Updated characters

Fluff update for the characters of the 409th . . .

After the most recent game against the Dark Angels and Orks, and with the new additions to the mighty 409th, i thought it a good idea to update the fluff for them all . .

Major Gregor 'Lucky' Veissman
Company commander

Major Veissman has lead the 409th since their incorporation into the Imperial Guard. He was the natural choice being the most respected and feared leader of the largest hunting party on Vessen Prime. He is a bold and fearless leader who leads from the front with his two trusty pistols. The nickname of 'Lucky' originated from the first campaign the 409th were engaged in. When his Chimera was struck by a shaped anti tank weapon, blowing a hole clean through the drivers compartment, and flipping the tank on its back, he was the first to exit the rear of the vehicle immediately drawing his pistols. What was left of his command squad falling out of the vehicle, dazed, behind him. Veissman was greeted with the sight of one of the biggest Orks he had ever seen. This was clearly the rabbles Warboss! The brute charged towards him, Veissman blasting at him with his pistols, to little effect, until the magazine of the chimera's autocannon ignited, sending an armoured plate spinning towards the lumbering Ork, missing Veissman by mere inches, the plate flew through the air chopping the Orks head clean off. Veissman then seized this opportunity felling the rest of the brutes squad and effectively winning the battle single handed.

Lieutenant Gene 'Sneaks' Roxto
Adj to Major Veissman

Roxto has served alongside Veissman since the loss of his first Adj to the Chimera explosion that earned the Major his nickname. During battle Roxto acts as the Major's Vox man and when needed his bannerman. Outside of battle Roxto serves the Major in an administrative capacity. However, unbeknown to any outside the 409th, Roxto has a talent for infiltration and subterfuge. He would have made the perfect elite stormtrooper had he been an orphan of a noble, but an upper class does not exist among the civilians of Vessen Prime. The Major uses Roxto's talents to his advantage and especially when on campaign with other Regiments. The tragic accident that Brigadier Gaap (commander of the 118th Kluwer Rifles) had on the Wolts Campaign is proof of this, this saved the 409th from being used in a suicidal charge against unconquerable opposition and would have meant certain annihilation for the 409th.

Sergeant Alden 'Doc' Kluwer
Company Command Medic

Lieutenant Janto Xaster
Master of Ordanance

Captain Stovra 'Deadshot' De Vickers
Tank Commander of the 'Emperors Fist Armoured Company'

With his trusty Vanquisher tank Cpt De Vickers has earned the nickname 'Deadshot' for his excellent kill ratio. One of his most notable kills, was hitting the knee joint of a rampaging Tyranid  gargantuan creature, blowing its leg in two, causing it to crash to the ground killing hundreds of its smaller creatures and rendering it easy prey for the rest of the company to finish off. De Vickers is an unorthodox Commander, using innovative tactics which has forced many an enemy commander onto the back foot.
During the battle with the deceitful Dark Angel's Cpt De Vickers added to his growing tally with some exceptional kills - most notable of which was the Dark Angels witch-psyker (librarian in terminator armour) blowing his head clean off with one shot of his Vanquisher Cannon. He ended the rampage of their Dreadnought along with knocking out both of the armies tranosports (Rhino and Razorback) in fact, Cpt De Vickers silenced all the armour the Dark Angels could bring to bear.

In the latest battle to beset the 409th, against the vile Ork. Cpt De Vickers fired the first shot of the battle, unleashing his mighty vanquisher battle cannon onto the Ork Warboss' BattleWagon. The shot flew through several windows before slamming into the side of the BattleWagon igniting the fuel store and blowing the BattleWagon sky high! This rendered the Warboss' bodyguard of Meganobs useless for the battle as they were too far away from the lines of the 409th.

Captain Xander Hague
2IC and Commander of the 'Emperors Blade Assault Company'

Cpt Hague leads the Assault elements of the 409th. Currently consisting of 2 Hellhound Flame tanks and three units of mechanised veterans in their Chimera's.
Cpt Hague is a maverick of sorts, which suits his role leading the forward elements of the 409th. Some would call him hot headed however Maj Veissman trusts Cpt Hagues judgement and allows him to run his units as he sees fit.
In the latest battle against the Orks Cpt Hague expertly directed the two Hellhounds to deal a devastating toll on the foul Xenos, When one of the Ork units got close enough to charge and destroy Red troops chimera, the retailiated, under orders from Cpt Hague, a decimated the Ork unit in a hail of lasbolts, breaking their morale and causing them to flee.

Master Sergeant Felix Ost
Adj to Cpt Hagues

Commisar Victor Brax

Commisar attached to the 409th since their founding, he has a strong relationship with the Major, almost bordering on friendship. Since the 409th have been campaigning for such a significant period of time without contact with high command, he seems to have turned a blind eye to some of the 'modifications' and non standard equipment the 409th carry. He has gained the respect from the troopers of the 409th and they follow him like they would one of their own. Therefore executions are sparse and not Brax's usual method of discipline.
